Polanyi and the Revised Taxonomy: Teaching Technology for High-Level Creative Thinking and Risk Taking

This paper presents a model for mastery learning. The framework this overlays the cognitive and knowledge dimensions from Krathwohl’s revision of Bloom’s Taxonomy, Revised with Polanyi's theory personal knowledge. A simplified integrates concepts subsidiary focal awareness Taxonomy levels acquisition to form new consisting two dynamic parts: base thought elevated thought. base/elevated serves as learning regards usefulness, application, integration technology into creative problem-solving process. Allocating other means instruction (for example, online tutorials or flipped classroom techniques) frees up instructor's time allows expert (teacher) engage novices (students) in more direct student-instructor contextual requiring higher thinking. While proposes use within context technology-focused model, its application has potential scenarios.
